Click Fraud and the $800 MM Gorilla

Click Fraud.  Everyone's talking about it these days.  Business Week  reported that the practice cost advertisers $800 million last year and that an average of 14.6 percent of all the clicks generated by PPC ads were fraudulent.  These startling figures could amount to 37% of advertisers reducing their spend by as much as 10% by this year's end.

It seems that a good question to be asking yourself as an online marketer these days is "how do I know if I am a victim of click fraud?"  The second might be "how are they actually doing it?"

Although advertising systems such as Google have their own algorithms for trying to detect click fraud, it's also a good idea to know where your click's are coming from and have your own safety net to be able to audit suspicious clicks yourself.

So how do you do this without getting into code implementation and over-blown reporting?  It's easy, with ion's Post-Click Marketing Console.  ion's post-click software engine detects and segments "suspect" clicks from your actual respondents--keeping your campaign performance stats and your PPC fees free and clear from all types of click fraud.

We're proud of the click audit functionality that comes standard with the ion Post-Click Marketing Console and think it's worth tooting our own horn.
