Passing User Data From Email Campaigns Into LiveBall paths

Did you know you can pass user data into LiveBall forms from your email campaigns? Pre-populating your path form fields with a user's information can prevent user error and make the conversion process faster and easier.

All you need is a LiveBall form, the LiveBall data fields, and your email software's dynamic tags. The link(s) from your email campaign to your LiveBall path need to be set up as follows:

http://LiveBallURL.com/path?Data Field=dynamictag

Want to pass multiple fields?

Use a "&" to pass more than one field, as follows:

http://LiveBallURL.com/path?Data Field=dynamictag&Data Field=dynamictag&Data Field=dynamictag

Try this on your next email campaign, or contact your LiveBall account manager for help setting this up.

I believe that many browsers don't support spaces in the URL as you are doing with the "Data Field" query parameter.

You might want to consider using a hyphen or just removing the space.

Yes, Dharmesh, you are correct. There should not be a space in the query string and the space from my previous example should have not been included or replaced with a hyphen or even an underscore.

When constructing your query string to pass user data from your email campaigns into LiveBall, please set them up as follows:

http://LiveBallURL.com/path?DataField=dynamictag

Or, to pass multiple data:

http://LiveBallURL.com/path?DataField=dynamictag&DataField=dynamictag&DataField=dynamictag

There is also a really cool way to test passing of variables in LiveBall. At the path preview page you can simulate a respondent's query string by entering your parameters in the first three boxes...

For example:

promo=JuneGiveaway
source=BannerAd123
location=US

Then, go ahead and view the path. As you navigate through the path you will see that the codes are passed throughout.

LiveBall also allows you to simulate respondent behavior (such as number of visits, previous conversions, etc.), location, culture and browser.

Advanced respondent simulation rocks—check it out!
