Landing page vs conversion path

A client recently asked if we could test one of her current landing pages against a conversion path—great idea! We can absolutely do this and we can watch our results in real-time. This is how this works...

1. A 'control' path is set up in LiveBall.
Using advanced rules we require LiveBall to seamlessly redirect respondents to the current landing page. Initial respondent information and conversions are tracked in LiveBall. So, we know where this user came from, where they were sent and whether or not they converted.

2. A conversion path is created to test against the current landing page.
With the conversion path we can track even more specific respondent behavior such as segmentation choices and levels of engagement. With a conversion path we know where the user came from, where they were sent, who they are, what they are interested in/how interested they are, and at which point they decided to leave or convert.

3. Traffic is allocated evenly between the 'control' and the conversion path.

4. Testing begins....

We recommend this type of control testing to all of our clients. Want to try it out? Contact your account manager for help setting one up—the results will surprise you!

# re: Landing page vs conversion path

We recently launched this control landing page versus conversion path. Although we haven't reached statistical evidence quiet yet, our initial results are pretty amazing!

The conversion path is more than doubling the conversion rate of the landing page!

By monitoring the results of this path and using LiveBall path margin percentages, we will be able to tell when we have found the clear winner on this A/B test.

Looking forward to posting another update soon!
